Last week!

Hai!

Last week it was bit of everything!
Here in UK the tone for Tony Blair's departure is set.
Yes!
He is going!
He is a nice guy. But...mm.. he is bit of double head snake type. He speaks one agenda and does diagonally opposit.
Some time back, I use to trust him and used to think that he is really honest and he is trying hard and unfortunately, it is his people who let him down.

But now, I don't trust him.

Yes!..Same like our Tamilnadu politicians!..After all they are all same is it not ?

But British politics is different. It is well matured. People do things differently.
For an example, who would resign from the PM post just 1 year into their record third term.
In India, either the PM should die, or he/she should lose the elections.
Otherwise, there is no way a PM would resign. No matter what happens.
In comparison to the Indian politics, what happens in London is the real true politics.
Come on Tony...Get moving..Let Gordon have his three years.
Then..
Let us see how good is the neo Camaron...I like him..He is cool and let him have his day in the sunshine..!!!
------------

Other thing is as there is a huge expectation in the forth coming Local body elections in TN.
Tamilnadu people feel that they can bring about a change.
The change may be to their personal life(!) or to the village/panchayat to which they belong.

At the last count, it is close to 5,00,000 applications for the entire state.
It is simply mind bogling.
We indians some time do things big. Especially in the Election.
We can certainly say that democracy has reached the core of Indian population.
Well Done INDIA.

Never mind. People are hopeful.
So let us also be hopeful.

The last but sad thing is The wonderful dance/Cinema Artist "Padmini" has passed away.

She was the First most beautiful face I saw in my childhood.
Even after many years, very few people came anywhere close to her.
It is not only her face, but her dance also captivated me like anybody else.

I don't know any thing in Bharathnatyam. But I liked when it was done by her.
The Thillanamohanambal is still fresh in my memory. Before that I saw her
in a BW film. I think, it is "Marumagal". I am not sure.
In that film, Shivaji used play as her Brother-in Law. I don't remember much about
that film, but her face.
My God..Still I can see that Fresh, young vibarant emotional face.
I have seen some of her dances along with her sister Lalitha. They dance like
a synchornised flowers.
Such a elegant, graceful flow.
Their timings and rhythems were fantastic.
You could feel that they are enjoying of what they did.
mm..Ofcourse, like Kannadasan said,
"Everybody who have come here have to go..No matter who they are".

I pray for her soul to rest in peace.
God bless her.

See you later

It is very difficult!

Yes.!

Now I understand how difficult it is to maintain a coulmn.
I started this blog on 13th of this month (13-9-06) and I promised myself that I will post atleast
one column for a day.

But today is 25th and in the last 12 days, I was able to manage only 4 postings.
It is very sad situation. Is n't it?

Now I understand how difficult it is get focused on one thing for such a long time.

People like Mr. Karunanidhi doing this for almost 60 years!!

Wow...It is a great achievement.

Forget about what he wrote..Whether about his party or about his enemies.
But he did write. That is more important.
The consistancy in his work is amazing.

mmm...I have long way to go..
But never mind. At least I have started moving..that is good.

Now my new promise to my self is that I will post at least column every week.

It should be possible.
So That's it.
Soon I will post in Tamil also.
Let me see how it goes.
See ya!

Suki Sivam

Today, I happen to browse the Podcast section.
Accidently, I stumbled upon a lecture given by Mr. Suki Sivam, during his visit to Houston, Texas, USA, on 30 Feb 2005.

Pretty late.

But, since the subject was very much relevent to anytime, I was able to enjoy every bit of it.

The lecture was about Tamil, our culture and about "Thirukural" etc. Execlent quotes were given.

For an example, he quote an incident which happened in Swami Vivekanand's Life.

when Swami Vivekananda went to USA, a lady asked him to marry her.
When Swami asked the lady about what made her ask him such question, the lady replied
that she was facinated by his intelect.
She wanted a child of such an intelect. So she asked swami, whether he could marry her
and give a child like him.

Anybody would have felt outraged by such question. Many would have condemned her desire.
Any normal person would have said and acted in such way that the lady would have felt offended.
But swami handled the situation (Very difficult indeed!) in a most surprising way.

He said to that lady, that since she was attracted only by his intelect, there is no problem.
He continued as follows!

"My dear lady, I understand your desire. Marrying and bringing a child in to this world and understanding whether it is inteligent or not takes very long time. More over it is not guaranteed.

Instead, to fulfil your desire immediately, I can suggest a guaranteed way.

Take me as your child. You are my Mother.
Now on your desire of having a child of my intelect is fullfiled."

The lady was speechless.

What a great way of handling a very difficult problem without hurting anybody.

So the podcost goes on...
It was a lovely experience to hear.
Here is the link...
Hope you also enjoy that..

The Future CM?

Oh...Yes!
We are all blessed!
Thanks to the almighty god that finally we got what we were longing to happen for a long time.

Our "Chinna" Madame has been finally given a Party post in the Amma's Party.
What a great Day for Tamil Nadu and for its people?

Please do not speak anything about this appointment.

Why?
Because you have no right to speak about this.

The party is the property of one lady and one family.
Ofcourse, the same party when it is in power thinks the same way
about the whole of tamilnadu.
Never mind.

Do we call ourselves a democracy?
What a joke?

Ofcourse, the leader who made this appointment herself has not become a leader by election.

She was also appointed. No..NO.. She was inducted. What a crap!

Where are we living? Tamil Kingdom.

Our systems are so corrupt and I think that we almost lost any sense in the core aspect of democracy at all.

Many of the words like democracy, inner party election etc, have all lost its meaning in our shameless society.

The main reason for this apathy is due to the complete disregard of ethics by the Media.
Our media is very much polarised among the two "kazhagams".

They completely forget that they are suppose to be neutral.

They forget that they are supposed to be highlighting the ills of the society and provide constructive alternative and solutions.

I know that immediately, people will argue that a journalist is not supposed to give solutions. Because if they give one, then they will be seen as the part of that solutions itself.

What I mean they should tell the public about the right and wrongs instead of just reporting what is happening.

In our case, even this ‘simply’ reporting the truth also has vanished. Instead, what we see today is nothing but sheer sycophancy by the media without any sense or shame.

The media (Print and visual) is as corrupt as any other part of this society.

It is absolute trash.

Here in this case, look for some joke.

Some body goes all the way to Tanjore to ask a non-entity, who is nothing but a ex-government official and husband of the new appointee. That person every now and then issues funny statements about the way he is running the party and the government (Some time even the Central one!) un-officially.

What a joke?

Is he a party leader? No.
Is he a social worker? No.
Is he an Industrialist? No.
Is he a famouse actor? (As per the true tradition of Tamil nadu!) No.
Then who is he?
mmmm...NO BODY.

Isn't it funny?
He is not even able to reach the pin code area of the place where his wife lives.
He claims that he is all powerful.
He is so funny.

Some times he even threatens with dare consequences !….WHO?
We don’t know. Only he and the reporter knows.

I still don’t know why and how he keeps coming in the lime light of the media at all.
In that way he is very efficiant. After all his previous job was in State Information Department.
So he knows how to take care of the journalists.
Well done Sir!

What a funny world !

That is our most intellectual Tamilians.

See…Life goes no.

Ravikutty.

First Posting!

Yes!
I am bit thrilled and as well as confused.

Before starting the blog, I use to feel that I have so much to say and so much to write.
But once I have started, my fingers doesn't do much work in the keyboard.
Not because, I cannot type. Infact, I can type very fast.

The reason is, I don't know where to start.
Anyway, this kind of confusion, I think, is common among people who starts writing for the first time.

Strangly, this is not the first forum on which I write. I have already published couple of articles in a website called " Kundupapa" (I think that the site is till in the net!). Infact, I received some good appriciating comments, which encouraged me to do this "Blog" attempt.

I hope that this blog is viewed by more people and their feed back will help me to decide whether I can start a website on my own. I want that website to be in bilingual (English/Tamil) format.
Yes.. I have some plans. Let us see..

Now, coming to this Blog..

First let me tell you what you are going to see here.

Like many people in Tamil Nadu / India or people of Indian origin from outside India, I have lot of anger / frustration about the way things are going around us.

As a person who has travelled some coutries and seen many cultures, I feel that we are responsible for what is happening around us. Why are we blaming everybody other than us?

The above statement may look very vague and empty, but when I write more about many things, you will understand what I mean. You will understand why I challange certain things.

Let me not put you off with despair.

I am also going to write about many good incidents as well.
So
See you soon!

May be every day!
Have a nice day!
Ravikutty.
